Heritable succession

  • Legal heritable succession is based on biological and family connections. The investigation of family relationships often becomes more and more a difficult due to the loosening up of family bonds in our society.
  • The German regulation for the legal order of succession contains an unlimited right of succession between relatives, so that commercial heir tracers are almost indispensable in order to allow remote relatives the access to their share of inheritance.
  • The origin of common ancestors has to be proved consistently by notarially attested civil entries for the respective generation. If relatives have already deceased, it has to be proved by presenting death certificates that these heirs no longer come into question.
  • The amount of the values heirs receive depends, among other things, on the degree of kinship to the decedent, the size of the community of heirs and on the actually existing inheritance value on the day of disbursement.
